Sylvia attended University of Calgary and Foothills Christian College graduating with an integrated degree in Religion and Psychology. She holds a certificate in Applied Counseling from Kelowna College of Professional Counseling. She has also completed a certificate in Indigenous Cultural Safety through the BC Provincial Health Services Authority.
Sylvia works with individuals and couples dealing with issues related to marriage, parenting, loss and grieving, addictions, trauma, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, or just needing some support on their life journey. She has a particular passion for working with individuals who are embarking on a mental health journey or who are struggling with the difficulties of growth and transition as a result of change, whether the change is a choice or imposed by another. Sylvia has over 20 years of experience working in lay ministry settings.
Sylvia’s personal journey of changes and transitions began 37 years ago when she married her bush pilot husband, Wes. Through 20 moves in 12 locations, Wes & Sylvia raised two sons and continue to enjoy many adventures together.
